Silas now does an army crawl, pushing off with one big toe and pulling forward with one arm. It’s so cute! He has mastered the skill of putting his arms by his side when we feed him. We say “arms down” and he puts them right by his side (unless he doesn’t want any more bites). He is learning what “no” and “don’t touch” mean. I’m trying to teach him what “no fussing” means, but that one is unfortunately a little more abstract. It’s amazing how easy it is to train him not to touch the plugs in the room or bookshelf. God has given us His word to tell us how to train up a child. It’s already working! I’m so excited (and scared!) to train up my little one. I need tons of wisdom. It’s a good thing God gives wisdom to those who ask (Jas. 1)! Silas is an awesome blessing. God is good.
This is such a warm winter. It’s waaaaay different than the last two years. I hardly ever wear my coat. Of course, I hardly ever stay outside for more than 60 seconds, but last year, 60 seconds was all it took instantly freeze everything (including the inside of our noses). That’s when you know it’s truly cold and time to put on a hat and scarf as well. This week it’s supposed to get up into the upper 40’s. That’s extremely warm for January. But, we’re not complaining. Come Spring, I’m sure we’ll be ready for the cold to go away.
