The Heart of Anger by Lou Priolo is certainly one of the best on the subject. Anger is a common sin among Christians. It is called by so many names (usually the names are meant to mask the seriousness of the problem) such as 'irritation,' 'frustration,' or some will say that they are just really, 'bothered.' We all get angry. It is a difficult issue to think through. Priolo writes very clearly and practically. He uses Scripture well. He 'shows' you how to put the truth into practice.
The book is primarily designed for parents as they train their children. However, that should not keep unmarried people or 'childless' people from reading the book. The book will help you to understand what the Bible says about anger, what the Bible says about how to 'put off,' be renewed from the Word, and 'put on' the new man, what the Bible says about provoking others to anger, what the Bible says about how anger is expressed in communication, and what the Bible says about how you should respond to those that try to provoke you to anger.
It is a great book for child-training. He tells you what to say to your child, how to say it, and he gives many, many examples of typical conversations between children and parents. The book also gives you worksheets for you to copy that will help you to think through your anger 'episodes' biblically.
You will learn much from the book. You will enjoy the reading (he gives good examples and interesting stories). Read it and reap!
